Shabu City @ City Viva and Coffee @ Dean & Deluca - 04.05.11

Today I feel like eating hotpot.  At first, we were heading to Hachi on Narathiwas Road, but while we were trapped in the traffic, we turned to the left and see the big sign "Shabu City" in the City Viva.  Then I make immediate left trying to get there.  And I made it!!  Sorry for those whom I cut in front of, I was in a hurry and have a mission to accomplish.

This is the new restaurant that we've never tried before.  I hope it'd be ok.  The restaurant is quite new.  The offer traditional sharing big hot pot and also personal small hot pot.  Poom and I chose to have our individual pot.  Poom's a non-meat diner, so she ordered a pork shabu set.

I'm a beef-eater, so I ordered the Australian Beef set.

Here's the Kurobuta Loin.  It was ok.  The one that we had at Hachi was much more tender and delish.

These are the sauces, fresh egg, ponzu sauce, and sesame sauce.  They also provide chopped garlic, spring onion and chilli for fixing your own sauce.

At first, we ordered Lunch Set, but since the portion was quite too little, we changed to have buffet instead for 399 B / person.  The weird thing is that this price wasn't include the soup.  They will charge 40 B extra / person for soup separately.  Another weird thing is that they won't serve the lettuce which was normally served with Shabu or Suki, but they only serve cabbage with the set.  If you'd like to have the lettuce, it'll be separate order.  To me, the cabbage just doesn't fit well in Shabu or Suki Soup.  It creates a weird taste, just not my type.

Apart from the menu, I found the service was pretty good.  The waitresses and waiters show their willingness to serve, to recommend the menu to the customer.  I love the way they serve the customer.  Good Spirits!!

After lunch, we went a bit further to Dean & Deluca to grab after-lunch coffee and a dessert.  A promising Latte and my favorite Millefeuille.  Yummy Yummy!!
